The Obama Foundation has for the past years being contributing resourceful materials and organizing seminars to help nurture a new generation of global thinkers with a passion for the development of their communities and countries as a whole.

According to the new announcement made by the Foundation, 200 selected emerging leaders out of 10, 000 applicants on the continent will be trained further to be able to handle and tackle problems confronting their communities. On April 23, 2018, the Nelson Mandela Foundation confirmed former President of America, Barack Obama to give the 16th annual lecture. Therefore, he will use his presence in South Africa to run a town hall meeting with young Africans, sharing his story and also hearing from the youth as well.

Series of events including seminars, problem-solving programs etc will take effect from July 14 to 18, 2018. The Obama Foundation Leaders Program: Africa is seeking to create the platform where these young African leaders can stay connected online and continue to engage each other in conversations that will benefit the continent in the long run.
