A beautiful piece of information coming from the organizers of Accra Fashion Week, an annual fashion event that takes place in Ghana. The new trend across the continent in the era is the maximum utilization of the online space for exchange and business purposes. Africa is catching up pretty well with the internet world, which is certainly a good sign.
The fashion world has also seen a few innovative ideas pumped into the industry in the past couple of years, designers are becoming extremely creative with their delivery, but the traditional way of selling fantastic clothes displayed on the runway stays the same during many fashion shows. Fashion labels wait until the event is over to get the goods to cherish customers but, Accra Fashion Week is introducing the hashtag #ShopTheRunway. An anti second clothing campaign that will encourage buyers to buy from local artisans who participant in the event online.
#ShopTheRunway has another element added to it, organizers will be creating an online shop on their website to allow guests present and those who couldn’t make it to directly shop from the site. Accra Fashion Week 2018 will kick off on October 7 to 13.
It hosts popular Ghanaian and foreign brands such as Abass, Bri Wireduah, Iva Michaels, Mish Mega, Nackissa, Outrage By Jida, Sara Q And Tobams Colors.
