The 2018 Cannes Film Festival ended on May 19, not many African films made the list. However, there was some level of joy as Kenyan Film, Rafiki by Wanuri Kahiu made an impact.

Moreover, the potential for the film industry in Africa to grow to the next heights in the world is still a dream that will one day be realized. Cannes Film Festival is not all about the screening of great films, there is also the elegant fashion display on the red carpet that can’t be overlooked.

Let’s narrow our focus down to African stars and how they enjoyed themselves at the festival. Africa as a continent deserves some amount of praise because we have caught up with the world quickly in some areas, we are still gradually building moment towards other areas as well.

Fashion has always been one angle at which the continent has stood out at many international outings, this was seen at the Cannes Film Festival 2018 as Lupita Nyong’o, Maria Borges, Zynnell Zuh, James Gardiner, Davido, Naomi Campbell, Bonang Matheba etc fused everything fashion-perfect in representing Africa.
