For four consecutive years, Beninese singer, actress and activist, Angélique Kidjo has won the Grammy Awards in the same category.
She was nominated in Best World Music Album category for Celia alongside Afrobeat singer, Burna Boy for his album – African Giant, Altın Gün for Gece, Bokanté, Jules Buckley, and Metropole Orkest for What Heat and Nathalie Joachim for Fanm D’Ayiti, but she emerges winner once again.

Angélique Kidjo dedicated the award to every musician on the continent including Burna Boy. She described him as one of the talented young musicians from Africa who are changing the way African music is seen on the global stage. She further called for love and respect for all cultures and thanked the Academy for opening the world music category.

Burna Boy featured Angélique Kidjo and Damian Marley on the song – Different off the African Giant album, which was released in 2019. Kidjo remains one of the continent’s most decorated winners at the Grammys and other awards.
She won the Grammys in 2015 with the album Sings and the Eve in 2017.
