You may associate Palmer’s with the lovely Cocoa butter skincare range (which I’ve used since my formative years as it’s so sumptuous). As a brand I already love and trust, when I heard they were launching a new hair care range, of course, I had to try it out.

The brand recently hosted a select number of beauty influencers and journalists at the launch of the new Zero Break range at the West End’s Duck and Dry. My first concern was whether or not the range would work with my natural hair as Palmer’s hasn’t historically catered for the natural hair market. Complementary treatments were given using some of the products in the new range. I had my hair washed and conditioned with the Zero Break Strengthening Oil Conditioner and had my natural hair straightened for the first time ever! As with most product launches, we were given some of the products to try at home.

Here’s our verdict on some of the essentials from Palmer’s new hair care range:

Palmer’s Olive Oil Smoothing Shampoo

This very light shampoo contains Olive oil, Jamaican Black Castor oil and Soybean oil. My hair is very, very dry and brittle, and I’m always on the hunt for rich shampoos and I felt this shampoo held its own. It lathers very well and got rid of my knots and tangles before I had even applied the conditioner.

Palmer’s Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner

seeing as my hair is probably the driest in England, I am borderline paranoid about what kind of conditioner I use on my hair as it has to be very rich.  To test this product out, I applied generously along with the Palmer’s Moisturising Hair Milk, which was so luscious, I couldn’t get enough of it. I stuck on a cap for about 2 hours to let the products work their magic while I went about my daily tasks. I rinsed off my little concoction and I was impressed. My hair felt soft, with no kink in sight. All in all, a very productive wash day.

Coconut Oil Weightless Shine Dry Oil Mist

So I’ve used this oil on pretty much everything from spritzing up my own natural hairstyles to my weaves and I absolutely love it! It’s light, none greasy, but still manages to breathe life into otherwise tired looking hair, plus I always get complimented about the coconutty smell.

Coconut Oil Super Control Gel for Edges

You know those beauty bloggers who post photos on Instagram with edges on fleek? Yeah, my edges, don’t quite cooperate like that. I’m yet to find any edge control that can tame my edges for more than 5 secs, and unfortunately, neither did this one. The plus is that it’s non-greasy and doesn’t dry up and flake like some others, and it might well work on edges that are actually normal.
