Black Star International Festival 2018 kicked off with a symposium with filmmakers, promoters and various radio and TV stations to discuss the issues confronting the film industry in Ghana.
Over the weekend, the first part of the festival itself started with the special guest appearance from the gorgeous Second Lady of Ghana, Mrs Samira Bawumia who encouraged practitioners within the film industry to churn out stories that highlight the values of the country.
Other attendees include Ghanaian screen diva and fashionista, Zynnell Zuh and actress and entrepreneur, Juliet Asante. The festival has officially opened and will run to August 18, 2018, with films mainly from Ghana and other African countries.
