From models such as Jourdan Dunn demanding more WOC to be walking on high end runway shows without it being a shock to society, to the launch of new model agency Choco Media dedicated to promoting chocolate skin ladies.
Founder Kareen was sick of the lack of representation of not just WOC, but darker skinned ladies. “Seeing lighter skin models get booked is no longer a shock, they have been doing so well for years however for dark skin girls in entertainment it’s going to take support, a team, hard work and passion to make a difference” Choco Media was created to empower dark skinned woman in the UK, and to help rebalance their self esteem issues that they may have.
Choco media is a new innovative platform, it specifies for clients who require a dark skinned model but struggle to find a specific look they have in mind, the agency is also open for budding models that have been turned away from brands/companies due to the capacity of dark skin models needed being filled up.
Kareens aim for the company is to become a family that empowers each other through unity and sticking together. She refers to club Dstrkt as well as agencies with a lack of dark girls having individuals questioning their beauty. This platform is a representation of dark girls representing themselves as confident beauty beings that not the industry, or the lack of dark girls in the entertainment industry can take away from them.
The agency welcome ladies of all different shapes, sizes, African, Caribbean whatever you may be. Therefore if you are interested email Kareen directly and send details to email@example.com.
