One of the revered names in the fashion industry, Edward Enninful, was honoured at the Global Voices Awards during Business Of Fashion gala.

Edward was appointed as the editor-in-chief of British Vogue in August 2017, bringing different form and standard to the fashion industry. His belief in opening the door for equality in the industry saw a high level of diversity and inclusion being practised by the renowned lifestyle magazine.

After he took over the position, big names such as Oprah Winfrey, Noami Campbell, Adwoa Aboah and more became cover stars, he even selected Meghan Markle, HRH Duchess of Sussex to guest edit the Forces For Change issue in September 2019, which was one of the best selling editions.

He was honoured at the Busines of Fashion’s Global VOICES Award for his whole-hearted contribution to the fashion sector. For a special performance from Africa, Edward personally invited Nigerian Afrobeat goddess, Tiwa Savage to grace the occasion and entertain guests with authentic African music.

Tiwa Savage shared the surreal moment on Instagram, speaking highly of him for sticking to his African root and paving the way for others; ”Edward personally invited to bring some African spice to add to a beautiful evening???? When I saw the smile on Edwards face while I was performing I had butterflies in my belly because I was so honored to celebrate last night with you. Congratulations again and thank you for representing the continent and pushing the narrative to the world,” Tiwa wrote on the picture and video sharing platform.
