#FemTheFuture: Janelle Monae Hosts Pre-Oscars Brunch To Empower Women

The month of March is dedicated to highlighting the important contributions women in the world have made to better our societies. It could be small or large. Women are key figures in the development of every nation.

For the female creators in the entertainment industry to continue to make meaningful impacts with their works, a collective effort is required for that to happen.

Therefore, Singer and actress, Janelle Monae hosted a pre-Oscars brunch event in partnership with Belvedere Vodka at Catch LA, Hollywood, California, On March 2, 2018. This is to officially kick-off ‘Fem The Future’ campaign to empower women executives, directors, producers and engineers.

Wakandan nationals, Lupita Nyongo’o and Danai Gurira were on site to lend their support. Also spotted at the event were Chief Executive Office of Entertainment Television – Debra L. Lee, Actors – Yvonne Orji, Tessa Thompson, Film directors – Ava Duvernay, Dee Rees, musician – Jidenna.
