Ghana and Nigeria may not be immediate neighbours but the fact that both countries’ main accepted language is English and other similarities. History has thought us that the friendly relationship which at times brews into what outsiders may think is real misunderstanding but honestly speaking Ghana and Nigeria will always be friends who disagree to agree.
Major concerts like Ghana Meets Naija has been the grounds on which the two countries bring their best and trending acts in the music world to settle impending social media brouhaha or create another one. No true winner has been declared in the seven-year running and even its eighth outing this year.
We have compiled A few things we know about this year’s show: first, let’s take a look at musicians that will perform on the night:
From Ghana: Stonebwoy, Yaa Pono, Patapaa, Kidi, Kuami Eugene, king Promise and Fancy Gadam. These acts are the ones getting all show bookings in Ghana now and are expected to bring their A-game to the table.
From Nigeria: Wizkid, Mr Eazi & Mayorkun. Frankly, we think pairing just three act from Nigeria with about seven from Ghana, may just trigger a sense of fear in the Ghanaian camp.
If you have followed Ghanaian music industry for some time now, you will notice that patrons of concerts have been crying for bigger space away from the National Theatre, Accra International Conference Centre and more. Hence, the all-new large space called the Fantasy Dome was put up estimated to accommodate over 40,000 people.
Tickets for the show can be bought from EIB Network operated stations: Live FM and Starr FM. Online users who prefer to buy tickets at the comfort of their home can get it on Flexipay App.
This year promises to be the biggest in the history of the concert with 5,000 people expected by Empire Ghana at the Fantasy Dome.
