Smooth skin, six packs and a toned body are some of the items almost every model can mark off their check list. For an average Joe, these things take years and years of hard work to achieve a desired figure.

Today we take an inside look at what exactly goes into the diet and fitness and the overall package of an African model. Do they just sit around eating salad all day? Ghanaian model Stephen Kojo Owusu who won ‘Best Male Model Of The Year 2015’ in Ghana is our muse for the day.

Briefly describe your diet to us 

As a Model my appearance/the way I carry myself is very important. I try as such as possible to take my breakfast seriously I believe my body needs that to boost up my metabolism. In my opinion, having a healthy skin, hair and nails are mostly about taking in the right foods that contains more nutritional properties to support their growth. For example: greens, nuts, fruits etc.

I also love drinking water, it has even become a habit. I do that at least every 15 to 20mins before meals. Trust me when I say the best part about drinking water before bed time is that it helps me to sleep very well.

How about that toned body, what do you do to keep fit?

Keeping the body in shape is necessary with my line of work. I have an hour structured workout plan every morning except Saturdays (Sabbath Day) resting day. I love to dance, so during Wednesday and Friday nights I to try relax my mind and body with a little bit of Kizomba at my favourite spot (Sky Lounge)

Here at Glam Africa we are obsessed with fashion so… how would you describe your personal style?

I believe fashion is about being yourself in what you wear so I always like to make a statement in the outfit I wear. This can be in a form of the colour of clothes, hat, shoes, glasses or an accessory. I don’t believe in too tight or baggy pants, wearing too expensive clothing or top brands but I just need to look good and feel myself alive in the outfit.
