Winner of the Precious Award in 2017 for best haircare brand, Primal Beauty has captured the curls of many a naturalista in recent months. Founded by Sandra Brown-Pinnock (pictured), the owner of Xsandy’s beauty store in London, this line boasts all natural ingredients; brimming with organic shea butter, raw coconut oil and vitamin E. There are currently fourteen products in the range including black soap, anti-breakage shampoo, intensive moisturising conditioner, hydrating leave-in conditioner, hair repair serum and a variety of raw organic kinds of butter and oils – all retailing at under £10 a pop. Because I don’t like to mess with my already golden hair regimen too much, I decided just to try the shampoo and moisturising conditioner combo to see how it fared.
Between protective styles, I used this combo once a week for six weeks and I can honestly say that I definitely noticed a difference in my hair. What I need from a shampoo is a healthy lather (because my hair doesn’t feel clean without it) and for a conditioner to score it had better last longer and have a pretty scent. Primal Beauty delivered on both, leaving my hair squeaky clean and smelling yummy without the usual dried out feeling of a good cleanse. My hair is thick in density but the individual strands are actually thin and very fragile so detangling takes ages and breakage is all-too-easy. What I found with the Primal Beauty washday is that my hair was left a lot less difficult to manipulate into place, without too much pull, and smoother to the touch after a good old-fashioned air-dry. I was actually reluctant to reinstall my hefty braids afterwards! Which is a very good sign because oh boy do I love my braids. Bravo Primal Beauty!
So if you’re a naturalista looking for a product with extra bounce and without the harmful ingredients like parabens, mineral oils, sulphates (and ESPECIALLY if you’re gassed by supporting a Black-owned business like I am) then give this brand a try. Your hair will thank you for it…

Hiya! I know this is kinda off topic but I’d figured I’d
ask. Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest authoring a
blog post or vice-versa? My site discusses
a lot of the same topics as yours and I believe we could
greatly benefit from each other. If you happen to be interested feel free
to send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you!
Awesome blog by the way!
