Succeeding and Surviving the top fashion and modelling industries in Europe and America could be challenging at times. Several problems hinder the progress of young black models in these industries. Often, industry experts who are mostly in charge of the front seats or call the shots find it difficult to allow black Skinned models to fully express their talent solely based on their lack of understanding people of colour.

So how did black skinned models such as Leomie Anderson (United Kingdom), Khoudia Diop (Senegal), Nyakim Gatwech (Sudan) and Ajak Deng (Sudan) make their way to the top and what challenges did they face? each of these beautiful ladies shared their experiences in the industry on BET’s Black Like Me show.
