Hollywood actor, Idris Elba has revealed his willingness to take a break from social media for some time.
For the past decade or more, social media has been one point for the youth, companies and more, either discussing social issues or business-related matters. The youth especially has embraced it with open arms, and it can be seen in their lives.
However, Idris Elba doesn’t want to belong to that league that are constantly on social media. He said it makes him depressed easily, hence the decision to stay off it.
“I’ve been trying to wean myself off. I used to post a lot more, but it’s been putting me off lately,” Idris told Fast Company in an interview. “And Twitter’s just not how I want to receive my news.”
Will this be the trend now, are we going to see more celebrity step down from various platforms? The Hobbs and Shaw superstar didn’t add when he plans to return, a lot of his fans who monitor him on social media platforms are going to miss him.
“I read the news aggregated on my iPad, but I can’t check it constantly—I’m not proud of it, but it’s true—because it makes me feel depressed,” he added.
