Swaziland will no longer be recognised with this name as the King Mswati III used his position as the ruler of the only African country still under absolute monarch to effect the change to the Kingdom of eSwatini which translate as the land of the Swazis.

He made the announcement during the countries 50 anniversary since gaining freedom from the  British and Dutch rule, the country did not change her name unlike countries like Ghana that used to be Gold Coast and other African countries.

King Mswati III gave confusion of name to Switzerland by foreigners anytime citizens of Swaziland go out of the country as the reason why he made the change to make it easier for identification.

Now, looking at the number of people who are used to the old name ‘Swaziland’, how difficult will it be for people to adjust to the new name?
