When legendary Ghanaian musician, Okyeame Kwame first published the title of his newest project as Made In Ghana, many thought it was going to be just a musical piece but he insisted it’s a celebration of the authentic Ghanaian music before the influx of different genres.
The beauty of this project is his blend of both old and new faces in the music industry, from the corner of the current generation are Kuami Eugene – heavily linked to the artist of the year crowned at the upcoming Ghana Music Awards, Kidi – a label mate of Kuami Eugene, who has set the bar so higher with his singing prowess, Abiana – a talented songstress with a bright future written all over her, Wiyaala – the warrior from the northern part of Ghana winning the heart of the world with her cultural display in music, Feli Nuna – fast rising afrobeat sensation, from the corner of the old highlife musician is Wutah Afriyie and more.
Okyeame Kwame has defended the Made In Ghana album on a few platforms in the country pointing a finger towards the direction of highlife and calling music lovers to pay attention to it and find a way to blend it into the newest genres they are enjoying.
Hence at the launch in the capital city, Accra on Saturday, April 20, 2019, a large catalogue of his fans from the business communities, entertainment, fashion and more gave him resounding applauds for not giving up on the highlife genre.
Everything about Made In Ghana album celebrates the cultural heritage of a nation known for its heartwarming reception towards everyone.
