Ghana has found a representative in the skeleton discipline for the first time in the country’s history, Akwasi Frimpong, born in Ghana but, grew up in the Netherlands has qualified for the 2018 winter Olympics in Pyeong Chang, South Korea
Prior his qualification, Frimpong enjoyed a lot of glory as an athlete, he won the Dutch 200m junior title in 2003, later switched to Skeleton after he narrowed missed out on qualification to Sochi 2014 with the Dutch team as a bobsledder.
Frimpong has said he is on a mission to qualify Ghana to the winter Olympics, which he as now, and then winning a gold medal for the country.
Even though Frimpong wants to make history by fetching gold at the event which opens on February 9, 2018, he already did make history with his qualification.
