Off the ‘Daddy Do My Hair’ Series by author Tola Okogwu is another well-told story dubbed ‘Kechi’s Hair Goes Every Which Way’. The entire series was inspired by the unique relationship between the Father and daughter designed to challenge many other perceptions and preconceptions around race, gender within parenting, bullying and friendship.

As a character, Kechi represents little black girls falling in love with their beautiful natural afro hair and her cheeky personality is almost as big as her hair.

The success of ‘The Daddy Do My Hair’ series proves that there is a market for diverse books and diverse authors, it is not a trend or even a niche and it’s time that the mainstream society knew about it.

It is an inspiring book for parents to share with their kids to encourage the habit of reading, developing self-love and also the love for the society without discrimination.
