Marian Kwei (formerly Kihogo) is a London based Celebrity Personal Stylist, Creative Consultant and the Editor-In-Chief of digital luxury magazine Story Magazine.
Born in The Gambia and of Ghanaian heritage, Kwei has twenty years experience being a tastemaker. A Vogue Italia spotlight feature on her in 2011 had the headline – Interview with the stylist and creative consultant from Ghana. In the piece (which is a must-read) she highlights how she is originally from Ghana and shines the light on The Gambia and Senegal. She was born in The Gambia in 1981 to a father who is a pastor and a mother was lectured in Art. She was 29 when this Vogue spotlight interview happened (online and video). She was at the height of her career.
She began her career at 19. She had gone onto to work with global brands across the scope of luxury couture, beauty, film, TV, music, art and more. She has styled leading celebrities for the cover of high fashion magazines and branded their images for the red carpet. Her work led into a foray in blogging. In 2009 she launched the eponymously named Mariankihogo.com (Kihogo is her former marital name). The platform went on to be listed in British Vogue’s online blog directory. It garnered award nominations by Lucky Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine (UK) and Glam Media. It saw collaborations with the likes of Marc Cain, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana and St Martins Lane Hotel. Kwei has garnered print and online press from the likes of Vogue Italia, The New York Times, E! News, Forbes, Glamour Magazine, The New York Post, The NY Daily News, Tatler, Grazia Magazine, MSNBC, Yahoo Style, The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Evening Standard etc… The list goes on.
Kwei has been lauded for her personal style which she documents on her current blog Mariankwei.com.
