If you are not already acquainted ; meet Thessalonika Arzu-Embry, The African American teenager from North Chicago who is embarking on doing a post-doctoral PhD, she is only 16 years old. Thessalonika first made headlines when she graduated from High School at the age of 11, but she did not stop there, in 2013 she completed a bachelor in psychology at the Chicago State University. Thessalonika has a 3.9 GPA (Grade point average) considering that grades in the United States are based on a scale of 0 to 4.0 this is a massive achievement.

Thessalonika did not follow  the usual  educational path that the majority of  kids are put on, the secret is Home-schooling, she was home-schooled by her Mother from the age of 8-11 years-old, When Thessalonika was studying for her undergrad she took classes  online, this gave her the time to go to leadership events and conferences and it also helped her mum  keep a close eye on her, studying on campus might have been a source of distraction, for obvious reasons.Thessalonika has published 3 books, one of them called ‘Jump the education barrier’ this is a guide on how to get through the education system in less time.
