It will be all excitement, celebration of culture, beauty and everything Zimbabwean-African on the 1st of July, when the Miss World Zimbabwe will go live at the distinguished De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms,Holborn, UK.
Zimbabwe-born businesswoman Chiedza Dawn Ziyambe, who was head-hunted to host this year’s pageant revealed in a statement,
“Selecting this year’s contestants was an arduous process because all the girls exhibited a lot of potential, drive and passion, which is exactly what we were looking for during the process – with an emphasis on Beauty with a Purpose.”
“We have so many talented individuals of Zimbabwean heritage doing exceptional work in the UK and the most rewarding thing about this process is identifying those individuals and nurturing them into the queens we know they are.”
“This platform is about harnessing upcoming talent and enabling them to find their beauty and purpose, as well as equipping them with the tools to make an impact, not only in the society they live in but on an international platform, and our finalists all have remarkable qualities that make the journey ahead promising. “
The lucky eight who made it after rigorous auditioning, are Tanaka Mulawo, Khetiwe Ncube, Amanda Nkomo, Nyaradzo Mawondo, Natasha Gweza, Karen Kawadza, Tafadzwa Mazanhanga and Laurah Simbi.
Anchoring under the slogan, “I am proud to be a Zimbabwean,” the prestigious event will feature major Zimbabwean designers like Kuda Matiza, Rahima Mohamed, Angela Plummer, Tsitsi Fred amongst others ; and is set to redefine pageantry in all dimensions.
“Winner of the MWZUK and her runner -ups will be flown to Zimbabwe to compete for the Miss Zimbabwe World 2017 title,and the overall winner will compete in the Miss World competition to hold later in the year.

Prizes for the pageant will include a character building session with FOSTA. The winner will also become the Face of Cherrielle Cosmetics.
Casting roadshows began in April and covered a number of cities including London, Nottingham and Manchester.
Profiles of this year’s contestants will be featured on the website and will highlight stories of their modelling careers and community based initiatives.
