The MTV Africa Music Awards which aims at celebrating the evolution of African musicians by recognizing contemporary artists and trailblazers across a range of music and lifestyle categories, would hold its 5th Edition today at the Durban International Convention Centre, Durban, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.
The event would feature performances by Bucie, Davido, Cassper Nyovest, Yemi Alade, Diamond Platnumz and American R&B singer Neyo. Three-Time MAMA winners, Davido and Diamond Platnumz are contenders in this year’s Best Male category, while Bucie and Yemi Alade are nominees for Best Female category. Casper Nyovest is a nominee for three categories; Best Hip Hop, Song of the Year and Best New Act.
The event would broadcast live across Africa on MTV Base, MTV and BET (DSTV channels 322, 130 & 129) today at 21:00 CAT.
