This is 2018 and the trend in hairstyles are changing by the day, more women are embracing their natural unique hairs and are not allowing many chemicals to be used on them. There are many reasons that have been associated with this trend, we can’t forget the fact that it less costly to maintain, but very costly at times to go for the wigs, perms, leisure curls and European-style hair.

According to the BBC, there has been an increase in the number of women who opt for natural Black hairs in Ghana, this has led many salon owners to fold their arms in their shops all day due to a decline in the number of customers they used to have.

“I can say I have lost about 50% of my clients who have opted to style and maintain their natural black hair, St Claire Adotey says, “This has really affected my business,” she added.
