“My name’s Elba, Idris Elba.”

This is the Tweet that set Bond fans and Idris Elba groupies into a frenzy this weekend after the London to Hollywood heartthrob has been touted as the next 007. The Daily Star newspaper in the UK published a story last week that Bond producer Barbara Broccoli told director Antoine Fuqua it was time to cast a non-white actor in the role and said Elba would be a good fit.

Since then the rumour mill has gone into hyper-overdrive that Elba will be Bond. Although he later tweeted something along the lines of “don’t believe the hype”, we’ve been fantasising about just how slick he would be in the coveted spy role. But who else you reckon would make a tall, dark and handsome bond?

Here are our top picks:

Djimon Hounsou – he’s got just enough salt and pepper in that beard to look distinguished and the blue steal gaze is everything.

Chadwick Boseman – just image the power of the Black Panther in a suit. Now that would be something…

John Dumelo – He’s certainly got away with the ladies, we know that much, just like Bond himself.

Uti Nwachukwu – The dreads would bring a little extra something to his 007 profile and we all know Uti knows have to work a good suit.
