Black Hollywood Stars are making great strides in recent times and we are happy about that. From revealing their stand to fight for the right of women in the industry to show off what black excellence meant in movies like Black Panther.

Just a while ago, two of the stars of Black Panther, Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira were announced to collaborate on the adaption of ‘Americanah’ by Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi.

Now, Lupita Nyong’o is once again gearing up for the shoot of ‘The Woman King’ with ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ star, Viola Davis. It is obvious that Lupita who is of Kenyan descent is having the best moment in her career.

Viola Davis shared the news on Instagram to wish Lupita a happy 35th birthday and expressed her delight in working with her on this new project they about to undertake.

‘The Woman King’ has a strong connection to Africa, based on original story by Maria Bello. The story is inspired by a true event which took place in the Kingdom of Dahomey – a very powerful African States in the 18th and 19th centuries. Davis plays Nanisca – leader of all female military group known as Amazons. Lupita plays Nawi, daughter of Nanisca. They fought side by side to drive away the French and neighbouring forces wanting to enslave their people, inter-tribal warfare as well. And, off-course create unity in the nation.

Right for the movie has been acquired already by Tristar, a subsidiary of Sony. Tristar hasn’t announced the production or release date. However, producers for the upcoming movie include – Cathy Schulman (Welle Entertainment), Davis and Julius Tennon (JuVee Productions) and Bello (Jack Blue Productions).
