It’s the Notting Hill Carnival this weekend but African culture gets a look in on the action too with a whole host of activities to keep you occupied this Bank Holiday weekend. So here’s our pick of events to make you laugh, dance or fill your belly from Friday through to Monday.

  1. Tiwa Savage Show

The Nigerian female music sensation will open the weekend for us with her show at the Indigo at The O₂ Arena on Friday. She’s announced a whole host special guests including Di’Ja and Don Jazzy and we really cannot wait.

  1. Carnival Saturday Summer Splash

DJ Abass is just the man to get us into the carnival spirit  – he’ll on the turntables at the Cyprus Garden on Saturday night.

  1. West African Groovy Pop-up Buffet

We can’t wait to try the long list of dishes made from West Africa led by Chef Belleful at The Lyondown, New Barnet, also on Saturday. It’s guaranteed to be quite frankly delicious.

  1. Shopsydoo and Friends

He’s featured in our Top 35 Africans to watch out for in our current issue and this is why. He’s the host with the most and he’s calling on all his celeb artists and DJs for a night to remember at O’meara Bar on Sunday night

  1. Crack Ya Ribs

If you want to belly-laugh this weekend then comedian, Julius Agwu has all the best jokes ready at the Discovery Centre, Barking on Sunday night.
