It is that of the season for the Africa Makeup and Beauty Fair, the second edition of the event took place at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra with speakers that have built brands from the scratch to well recognizable level in the world.
Honourable Catherine Abelema Afeku (Minister for Tourism Arts and Culture), Abla Dzifa Gomashie (Former Deputy Minister for Tourism) joined the Chief Executive Officer of Makeup Ghana, Rebecca Donkor for the opening ceremony. This is the gateway for a lot of the beauty brands to meet new customers, business executives and investors to dialogue around building a vibrant market for their products.
Main speakers for the first session, Dentaa Amoateng (Founder & CEO of Guba Enterprise) and Kubi Springer (Founder, She Builds Brands) touched on how to raise capital, start a business and sustain it for a long time. They answered questions like – challenges they faced while building their individual brands and being accepted by the society. In one of her answers, Dentaa presented a scenario about the rejection she faced starting, using her salary and selling the car she was using at that time to fund her business.
