The lead character, Daniel Kaluuya, and director, Melina Matsoukas of Queen and Slim, have attended the Lagos premiere.
Filmhouse and Universal Music Group collaborated to host the Lagos phase of the premiere. ‘Queen and Slim’ tells the story of two black lovebirds – Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith whose first date took an unfortunate path. They were pulled over by a police officer for a traffic violation, but things got out of hand, and Smith shot the officer in self-defence. Kaluuya and Smith run after the incident because they were tagged as officer killer, and also to avoid being captured.
The Lagos premiere was attended by Kaluuya and Matsoukas, and other influential personalities in Nigeria.
