Nigeria’s Ayobami Adebayo and South Africa’s Zukiswa Wanner are two of the renowned authors billed to take the stage at Literary Crossroads at Goethe-Institut in Nairobi, Kenya on February 23, 2018.
Ayobami Adebayo, 30, has been a strong author, her debut work – Stay with Me, is set in Nigeria. Ayobami introduces us to a couple in her novel – Akin (husband) and Yejide (Wife) whose marriage is being threatened by infertility but did everything they could to stay together in the midst of pressure from Akin’s family to get another wife. So far, her work is compared to great Nigerian authors, Chinua Achebe and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
Meanwhile, Kenyan-based author, Zukiswa Wanner has several publications under her belt, including; Behind every successful man, Men of the South, The Madams, and London Cape Town Joburg, and a regular contributor of articles to Kenyan Saturday Nation newspaper.
Literary Crossroads is the gathering of the continent’s writers in front of an audience to discuss modern trends and themes in literature.
