One of the world’s largest children’s charity organizations, Smile Train will hold a cleft week in Nigeria starting from January 23-25 at partner hospital, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital with its ambassadors, Miss Universe 2017 titleholders from Nigeria and Ghana, Stephanie Agbasi and Ruth Quashie respectively.
The organization is putting together the cleft week in accordance with its aim of raising awareness on orofacial cleft and to reduce the condition.
Smile Train’s sustainable model provides training, funding and resources to empower local doctors in 85+ developing countries to provide 100%-free cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care in their own communities. Since its founding in 1999, Smile Train has provided more than one million cleft repair surgeries across the world.
