Agharese Emokpae, also known by A’rese, winner of Nigeria’s first edition of TheVoice was announced yesterday evening.
28 year old stage actress A’rese was able to capture the hearts of judges and viewers with her rendition of Aretha Franklin’s ‘Think’ and Alexandra Burkes earlier cover of ‘Hallelujah’ in British reality musical performance show The X-Factor back in 2008.
Prior to the show, A’rese had 6 years of stage performing experience, and the Washington and Lee University graduate was awarded a recording contract, a SUV worth 7 million naira/£16,640 and a 4-night getaway to Dubai.
