This women’s month we celebrate with television and radio host, media entrepreneur and speaker Tumelo Mothotoane who has that deep sultry voice we all love. Tumelo took to social media on the 9th August 2017, on women’s day, surprising audiences with her wonderful announcement…….She is having a baby! And you guessed it, it is a girl.

Tumelo has stayed private about her pregnancy for six months which is a norm in African culture. In fact, in some black African culture superstition dictates that a woman that is expecting should abide by the following:
- Not reveal one’s due date to anyone except her mother and nucleur family
- Not announce her pregnancy to the public for three to six months and especially if the tummy is not yet showing
- Not allow anyone to touch her stomach except her nucleur family
Now that Tumelo’s wonderful news is out, we are so excited for this soon to be mother. Tumelo’s career is such an inspiration to young black women, having made it in South Africa and representing the African continent abroad. She is doing it all and doing it with style. We are looking forward to celebrating all of her successes and most importantly wish her all the best on this new chapter of womanhood.
