Braids gang are back in town. The braid trend returns each season be it be long summer locs braids, or protective styling for the colder weather. From Kim K’s ‘Bo Derek braids‘, to ‘Filani braids‘ which used to be Alicia Keys’ signature style, we can definitely say that braids are a trend that will never go out of style.

In summer 2017, the hair trend of the season was definitely Faux locs, the perfect get up and go easy accessible hairstyle which can be maintained easier that dreadlocks.

As Faux locs are meant to resemble real dreadlocs, you will find that they are easier to maintain as the style can be completed by using synthetic braiding or with human hair or yarn. The hair is then wrapped around tightly around braids or twists to resemble that real locs type texture. The likes of the stunning Meagan Good has made Faux Locs her signature style and we are loving it!

How to maintain Braids and Faux Locs:

-The way you maintain your braids on a day to day basis will affect how long it stays stay fresh and new. The best tip would be to do as little as possible to your hair, especially for the first few weeks.

-Secondly use a satin headscarf and wrap this around the edges of your hair at night time. This will help to keep the hair neat without needing to add edge control or to manually brush your edges down every morning which in the long run isn’t not good for your hair and is of course very time consuming.
