Netflix isn’t slowing down by all indication on the acquisition and filming of more African-based stories.

From acquiring Lionheart movie from Nollywood’s screen diva Genevieve Nnaji; to currently producing Queen Sono starring South African movie star and media personality, Pearl Thusi; to the Malawian movie The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind with Chiwetel Ejiofor, Netflix has started unpacking it’s bags in Africa.

The streaming network has now taken another step by acquiring the rights to Nigerian filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan’s Mokalik movie starring popular musician Simi.

Mokalik chronicles the story of a young boy who sent to the mechanic shop to learn new skills after failing to obtain good grades in school. In the end, he has to decide whether to go back to school and improve upon his grades or continue his lesson of car parts repairs.
