Celebrated Academy Award nominee and British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award winner, Chiwetel Ejiofor, of Nigerian descent has all the reasons in the world to be happy right now. With amazing performances in movies such as The Lion King, Maleficent 2 and Television shows like Dancing on the Edge, The Shadow Line, The Aftermath, the actor has expanded his talents into film directing.
His directorial debut film, a story about life and the willingness to succeed, titled The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind, just received the thumbs up from multi-national video streaming platform, Netflix for global distribution.
Even though, distribution will exclude countries like Japan, China and UK, the movie which takes its storyline from a book by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer about a 13-year old Malawian boy who is unable to go to school yet uses determination to persevere, is one that is said to top the Netflix list this coming year.
This is a must-see movie with casts including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lily Banda, Lemogang Tsipa, Philbert Maxwell Simba Aïssa Maïga, Falakeza, Joseph Marcell, and Noma Dumezweni. We are awaiting the release date as we don’t want to miss it.
