We are thrilled  to announce the forthcoming  annual  event,  African  Women’s Dinner  on  Saturday 5  March 2016  at  8  Northumberland Avenue,  London,  WC2N 5BY  from  6pm.  The event  is a  celebration of  International Women’s  Day  and  Mother’s day  with a mission to CONNECT, INSPIRE  and  EMPOWER women.  Organised  by  Sheila  Gatonye of  Triple-T  Events,  the African  Women’s Dinner is poised  not  only  to be  an  inspirational  event  but also a way  to bring  together African  women from  all  walks of  life through dining  and  entertaining  to reduce social isolation and  provide a  positive enjoyable experience.

The event  will kick  off  with the AWD Expo  from 11am  –  6.30pm  which is free  for  visitors and  guests can  find  original & ethical fashion,  accessories,  jewellery,  shoes as well  as Arts &  Crafts,  homeware, natural beauty  products,  books,  music,  arts,  financial services  and  much  more.  The AWD Expo  will attract an eclectic mix of  people and  will also serve as a networking  platform both for  traders and interested  visitors. In the evening,  Guests  will  enjoy  a drinks reception from  6pm followed  by  a  sumptuous  3  course dinner.    Entertainment  is packaged  by  DA  promotions and  Event Consult  and  Artists performing on the night  will  include  ACD Arts  ,  a group of  Traditional dancers,  Tsungai  Tsikirai,  Bella Mubiru,  a Ugandan/ UK  based  artist,  Lidiaana,  and  Artist BM.    There will  also  be a  fashion runway  show  to launch FASHION  Forward  Africa,  an  inspiring and  informative  fashion  portal  for  Africa  Inspired fashion and  creativity  as well as bringing  you up-to-date info on events,  models,  designers and business icons who work tirelessly to push Africa to the forefront of the global fashion Industry.


To end the event  on a  high note  will be  Multi-award  Celebrity  Artiste/DJ,  Deoba  Authentic  who  will  be on the decks for the after party.  The MC/Compere for the night will be Ade Bello, a Nollywood Actor  Guest  Speakers on the night will include  Ann  Wafula-Strike  MBE,    Paralympic  and  Founder of  The Olympia-Wafula Foundation.  She is also a sporting  ambassador  and  the author  of  “In my  Dreams, I dance”,  a powerful  autobiographical account of adversity,  endurance,  and  accomplishment.  Lidya  Tett Olet  ,  Founder and  Director  of  Kenya in  the Park  and  Malaika Dance  Unique,  a UK  based  performance company which  is also involved  in  promoting  African culture abroad  will also be  sharing  her  amazing journey  with the audience.  Another  Inspiring speaker for  the event is  Richard  Paa  Kofi  Botchwey,  an internationally  published  Ghanaian writer,  a poet,  an  author,  and  a social entrepreneur. Our  Keynote and  Special Guest  Speaker for  the evening  is  Her Royal Majesty Naa  Tsotsoo Soyoo I, an  award-winning Queen from  the Ga  tribe of the Greater  Accra Region  of  Ghana.


The first ever African Queen to be  featured  in  the USA’s Pan  Afrikan Times.  She is a  key figure in the African Diaspora community  as well as an  active leader,  educator  and  advocate  who devotes her  time to promoting  her  culture and  influencing  policy  through her  work  with international organisations and local groups
There will be  a raffle  draw  in  aid  of  the event’s  charitable causes and  this year proceeds will  go towards  The  Olympia-Wafula Foundation; a charitable organisation  dedicated  to providing  healthy living  solutions for  disabled  and  disadvantaged  people.  They  also support their carers by providing  a network  of  support opportunities through projects like the  ‘We  Care  Group‘ that  brings together family,  friends,  and  carers with outdoor  activities,  special events,  motivational speakers and  coffee mornings in Harlow.
