Tribute Held In Honour Of Black Bond Girls: Halle Berry, Gloria Hendry, Trina Parks and Naomie Harris

Do you know what Trina Parks, Gloria Hendry, Halle Berry and Naomie Harris have in common? These four phenomenal women have all played the iconic ‘Bond Girl’ role in the James Bond OO7 movie.

Its no secret that women of color struggle to get career defining roles in Hollywood, hence it was such a huge deal for the African American Film Critics association to hold a tribute event in honour the women.

Before we knew of Halle Berry and Naomie Harris, Trina Parks who is now 68yrs was the first black woman to star as Thumper in Diamonds are Forever. In 1973,  Gloria Hendry (66) was also the first African American woman to have a romantic scene with James Bond who at the time was played by Roger Moore.
