The Victoris’s Secret Fashion Show (VSFS) has come and gone, but many still speak of the glitz and glam it brought to London. It aired on TV a few days later, but for those of you who missed it, you can watch it HERE.
As you know we celebrate everything African, hence we could not help but notice the four African ladies who walked the VSFS fashion show this year. Here they are:
MARIA BORGES
22 year old Maria, raised in Angola by her brother and sister, now resides New York. The 5 ft 11 from Luanda Angola was discovered in a modeling competition in Angola some years back. So far, she has walked for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Tom Ford and Dior. This was her second VSFS show.
HAMMAM IMAAN
18 year old Hammam Imaan is a Dutch fashion model of Moroccan and Egyptian descent. The 5ft 10 beauty was discovered in the central train station in Amsterdam, and has since appeared in Italian, French and American Vogue and walked the runway for Prada, Dior and Jean Paul Gaultier. She was given the honour of opening and closing Givenchy’s 2013 Paris show. Thos was her debut show at VSFS.
CANDICE SWANPOEL
26 year old Candice Swanpoel from Mooi River, South Africa is not a new face on the VSFS runway, in fact, this is her 8th show. She was picked at last year’s show to wear the $10 million ‘Royal Fantasy Bra”. She was discovered by a model scout in a Durban flea market aged 15, and since then has had many achievements, sge was voted No. 61 in 2010 and No. 62 in 2011 in FHM’s annual “100 Sexiest Women in the World” poll and No. 1 in 2014 Maxim’s “Hot 100 List”. Candice made her debut at No. 10 on Forbes’ The World’s Top-Earning Models list, with estimated earnings of $3 million between 2010 and 2011, and No. 9 in 2013 with estimated earnings of $3.3 million.
Grace Mahary
25 year old Grace is a Canadian model originally from Eritrea – in the horn of Africa, and for this 5ft 10.5 model, this was her debut show. She was discovered at a mall in Toronto and has since then walked for Marc Jacobs, Prada, Chanel and Saint Laurent.
