On Monday, I received quite devastating news that Ghana beat Nigeria in a recent Jollof rice battle organized by giant spice makers Onga.
According to the news, budding 24-year-old Ghanaian chef, Sika Mortoo, showed culinary skills at the maiden edition of the Onga Ghana Jollof Battle, to win the bragging rights over Nigeria.
In all honesty, we (by we i mean Nigerians) congratulate chef Sika for her hard work and display of culinary expertise but we (refer to the meaning of we above) still firmly beat our chests and proclaim that Nigerian Jollof rice is King. And no we are not petty for thinking that.
Now that we’ve cleared things up, here’s what we are looking at today. A simple three minutes Jollof rice recipe by Nigerian (of course) food blogger Ronke Edoho popularly known as 9jafoodie.
