Wife’s Makeup-free Face Amounts To A £13,000 Lawsuit

At waking up the morning after the wedding in Algeria, a man got frightened at the sight of his barefaced wife, and now suing her for ‘psychological suffering’.

Ok, so let us assume this man is ignorant of the fact that women wear makeup to enhance their beauty, and in most cases, makeup covers certain natural flaws on the face. Let us give him the benefit of the doubt that all the while they dated, he never saw her makeup come off and concluded she looked the same every time, never being curious of how she looked barefaced.

‘He said she looked very beautiful and attractive before marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the make-up off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief,’ a source told local media.

Emirates 247 reported that the man is looking for $20,000 (£13,000) in damages.

Usually on a first date, I’d either go without makeup or less of it. With that, I still retain my natural look and he sees the difference between that and my makeup at a big event.

What are your thoughts on this? This is pretty absurd, isn’t it, but who is to blame anyway? Perhaps one party is plain shallow, perhaps the other party simply has a point to make.
