African music especially Afro-pop is penetrating the world quickly and changing the way artists from the other side of the world are making music now.
Most of the international artists like Chris Brown, French Montana, Major Lazer, Wale, Kranium, Popcaan, Tinie Tempah, Skepta to name but a few have found ways to reunite with their colleagues from this side of the world to cook songs that have rhythms influenced by afro-pop.
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun aka Wizkid recently sat down with Hunger Magazine for an interview about the whole afro-pop genre and what’s inspired his yet-to-be released “Sounds From The Other Side” mixtape.
Which he said was inspired by songs from different artists on the continent and beyond with deep afro-pop feel their works.
