South Africa Fashion Week A/W19,  which took place late October will forever linger in our minds for the high-level excellence that was put on display by talented and highly respected South African designers. Most notably, was the 4 x heavyweight designer partnership with SA franchise, Woolworths called #StyleBySA.

With a new twist to the fashion buying industry, Woolworths skipped the trade shows and went straight to the designers: Thebe Magugu, Mmuso Maxwell, Wanda Lephoto and Watermelon Social Club to create iconic pieces that are exclusive to the store.

The show was an affair of indulgence as 4 of Africa’s biggest exports in fashion came together to create an awe-inspiring collection that featured sheer, pleated, tassel’ed and even pillowed pieces. Cultural heritage is a key thread in each of the 4 collections, with pieces that bring a sense of South African 90’s nostalgia.

Woolworths’s WBeauty program heavily featured at the show. The WBeauty range features fragrance, skincare and colour cosmetics to perfectly complement looks showcased by leading South African designers bringing with its quality and innovation. WBeauty is vegan-friendly and proudly Beauty Without Cruelty.
