Accessories! Accessories! Accessories!!

It’s all about the Accessories! We all like to get glammed up, but the reality is that it’s not an everyday thing (well definitely not for myself, as quite frankly I just can’t be bothered after all, when I’m getting up at 6 in the morning – putting on my best outfit and a face of make-up is the last thing on my mind). So what’s the answer? How can we look fierce without necessarily having to go all out or cutting back on our valued sleep in the morning? It’s all in the accessories!

First of all, let’s establish the fact that we don’t have to be in the nicest dress, killer two-piece co-ord or chiffon blouse and tapered trousers to look good. Big myth! In fact that’s just one style or element of dressing. The played-down casual look or slightly less feminine glamour can be just as stylish and efficient, by simply throwing on some jewellery! Now when I say jewellery, I’m not talking about heavy chandelier earrings or big statement necklaces; but simply a little necklace, stacked midi rings and perhaps a small charm bracelet (all dependent on your taste).

Even vogue have said it, “let the jewels do the talking” by blinging up your basics. The general idea behind this being that we don’t need to spend hours on our image (hair and make-up included) to achieve that style factor. Dressed down days with un-styled hair and very minimal make-up can be oh so fierce, with just the right pieces of jewellery to make you stand out.
Take Rihanna as an example, she’s wears a very masculine Maison Margiela Couture suit but manages to soften and slightly glamorise it with a small but statement necklace, earrings and rings.

So ladies, the next morning you find yourself feeling dull and dreary at the sight of yourself in the mirror – in your simple t-shirt, jeans and pulled back hair; throw on some midi rings, a stand alone neck piece and maybe a blazer if you want to add that element of the stylish empowered female.
